Q: Why is my transaction being declined by TeleCheck?
A: When you use your One account and routing numbers to complete a transaction with a merchant, TeleCheck validates the payment for the order based on your transaction history.
There should be a phone number and email address provided to you in a message from the merchant/TeleCheck where you can contact TeleCheck to see a copy of the data they hold for you and to gain more insight into why they denied the charge.
TeleCheck can establish a positive profile for you. If you provide Telecheck with the information listed below, and TeleCheck verifies the information, your files can be updated with them, improving the likelihood of your transactions will be approved in the future:
- The record number provided on the decline receipt.
- Your driver’s license and the state it was issued
- Your banking numbers for your One account
- Your Social Security number, if you were referred by a financial institution
You can always use your One card to complete transactions.
