Who can I pay with Send a Check?
You can use Send a Check to create a check made payable to any person(s) or business with a United States address that is verifiable by the USPS.
How do I mail a check to myself that’s made payable to someone else?
If you need a check made payable to a specific party but mailed to you so you can include it with paperwork or hand-deliver the item, fill in the payee line as follows:
Payee Name, C/O Your Name
For the full address, enter your own address. This will allow the party you’re paying with the check to be able to cash or deposit the check while making the article of mail deliverable to your address.
How long is the check good or valid for?
Checks sent through Send a Check have “Void after 90 days” printed on them, and will expire after 90 days if not cashed or deposited
Canceling, Editing, and Stop Payments on Checks
Can I cancel a check?
Maybe! Checks can only be canceled the same day they are requested, before 2pm PT. If you need to cancel a check, reach out to our Customer Experience team as soon as possible. They’ll confirm whether or not the check can be canceled, and then cancel the check if they can.
Check can’t be canceled? Don’t worry, if the check can’t be canceled and hasn’t yet been cashed, we can place a stop payment.
How do I edit a check?
Checks cannot be edited. If there is an error or missing information on the check, you’ll need to cancel or place a stop payment on the check and a new check will need to be issued via the app/web.
How do I place a stop payment on a check I sent? Can I place a stop payment on a check that has already been sent out?
Yes, as long as the check has not been cashed, we can place a stop payment. Keep in mind that requesting a stop payment on a check doesn't prevent the check from being delivered. Please let the recipient know that the check has been stopped and will be returned if deposited.
I placed a stop payment on a check, but the recipient deposited it anyway. What will happen?
Once a stop payment has been placed, the check won’t be honored if deposited. The check will be returned and the funds will be debited from the payee’s account.
Shipping & Timelines
Can I expedite the shipping of my check?
No, unfortunately, checks cannot be expedited. All checks are sent via USPS.
It's been longer than the timeline I was given for my check to be delivered and it never arrived, what can I do?
Recently, the USPS has issued a notice that delivery is taking longer than expected, and we recommend giving it a couple of days past the provided delivery date. If your check still hasn’t arrived, or you need the funds returned to make the payment through a different means and can’t wait any longer, please reach out to our Customer Experience team to initiate the Stop Payment process.
When are checks printed and mailed?
Checks requested the previous day begin printing at 7:00 AM MST, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, and are mailed out the same day.
Can I send a check internationally?
No, checks can only be sent to addresses within the United States that are verifiable by the USPS.
Can I have a tracking number?
Because checks are sent via USPS, tracking numbers aren’t available.
